About the Management Trainee Program
Why is Omzest going for this program?
A) Omzest Group has a clear vision that for the Group to grow, it requires to create a cadre of Omani leadership who could manage operations of the Group in an international environment. This scheme is as a result of the long term vision of the Group management to ensure such a cadre of managers are created and available in future to not only manage the existing companies of the Group but also other potential projects.
It is therefore necessary that anyone joining the Group through this scheme should have long term aspirations to play a significant role in the future growth of the Group.
Is this part of Omanization Plan?
A) Not necessarily since Omzest Group is already meeting all the Omanisation targets and have even exceeded them. This is an initiative to induct and prepare future talented Omani managers in the Group who will take forward the vision of the Group.
How many positions are you planning under this program?
A) To begin with, we are looking at upto 15 candidates to be selected under this program. This is however a continuous program where we will be hiring every year depending on the exact needs.
Will you be hiring women?
A) Yes; Omzest Group believes in providing equal employment opportunities. Women will also be given equal preference excepting in positions where due to statutory or other reasons women may not be employable.
Will you have a probation period?
A) Yes; there will be a probation period of 3 months. At the end of this period, subject to satisfactory performance, you will be confirmed.
What happens if I don’t perform well during the probation period?
A) As we are hiring the best and the brightest of the young Omani graduates, we do not expect a situation where you would not be performing well. However, should you not meet the expectations of the management during the probation period, you may not be confirmed.
What does the training program involve?
A) The training program involves specialized classroom training on various functional aspects of management for the first six months and on the job for the balance six months. Even though you all are well qualified graduates, as you lack exposure to management functions, this training is essential to make an individual future fit to take serious managerial assignments/roles.
Whom will I report to when I finish the training program?
A) You will report to senior managers heading various functional areas where you are absorbed. |
